Our back garden Fall 2000
This seasonal creek runs through the garden. Bridge was built by Catie four years ago.
Hydrangea paniculata's blooms take on a blush with age.
Water plantings including dwarf cattails, papyrus, umbrella plant, hardy water lillies and ferns by the pond's edge.
Container plantings are great for getting bold color up close.
Canna 'Tropicanna and Carex morowii by the creek.
Salvia, Rudbeckia 'Goldsturm with impatiens in the background.
Looking down on the creek from the deck.
I like to use bold plants for strong accents.
Sedum 'Autumn Joy', Millium effusium grass and a hardy banana tree.
Who loves a garden
Finds within his soul
Life's whole;
He hears the anthem of the soil
While ingrates toil;
And sees beyond his little sphere
The waving fronds of heaven, clear.
